Paper towels used in public places are known as institutional paper towels. They are made of coarse and heavy paper. They are usually dispensed from a metal or plastic holder.

TYPES
Institutional paper towels are mainly of two types:

Roll Towel: They come in long, continuous rolls. This type is again divided into two: one made of a harder paper, dispensed orthogonally off the roll. They have to be torn on the edge of the dispenser. The other type is made of softer paper, they are inserted in an upright dispenser and can be pulled from the center of the roll through a small hole. They are similar with the domestic paper towels in texture. The latter type is gaining popularity in restrooms and kitchen hand washing. Folded Towels: These towels are cut individually and packed in rectangular blocks. They can be either of single-fold or of bi-fold. All the towels in the package are interwoven so that removal of one towel will make the edge of the next towel to hang down. Another type of folded paper towel is used in place of shop rags. They are made of rough and tough paper.

MATERIALS USED
Cellulose fiber is the main material for making institutional paper towels. Usually, institutional paper towels are made of rougher paper than the domestic ones.

STYLES AND PATTERNS
The Institutional paper towels are of two types: bleached, which is white in color, and the unbleached one which is brown in color. But the roll-type of towel is usually available in white. Sometimes dyed paper towels are also available.

USES
The main use of institutional paper towel is to dry and wipe hands in places like offices, hospitals, public restrooms, hospitals, theaters, restaurants, libraries, offices and schools.
